Paris 2024: Taekwondo - Faith Dillon Eyes Repechage Opportunity
Paris, France – August 8, 2024 – Faith Dillon, representing the USA in the Women's Taekwondo -57kg division, competed today at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The match took place at the historic Grand Palais, where Dillon faced Chaima Toumi of Tunisia in the Round of 16.
Faith Dillon began the match with a solid performance, winning the first round 3-0. However, TUN Chaima Toumi made a strong comeback, taking the second round 4-1 and securing her advancement with a 9-2 victory in the third round. As a result, Chaima will move on to the quarterfinals to face Nahid Kiyanichandeh of Iran.
Despite the loss, Dillon still has an opportunity to compete for a bronze medal through the repechage rounds. If TUN Chaima Toumi advances to the finals, Dillon will have a chance to re-enter the competition and fight for a place on the podium.
