Whether you are participating at a USA Taekwondo Event or Camp, policies and procedures are followed with your safety in mind.
Choosing where to train and compete is an important decision. USA Taekwondo provides a safe environment for all athletes free of abuse. A zero tolerance policy for misconduct is enforced. There is no safer place to train and compete - USA Taekwondo is the Safest Place to Play.
YOU ARE PROTECTED
Protection policies and procedures are in place at all USA Taekwondo Camps & Events includeing the following locations: Registration, Check-In, Weigh-In, Warm-up, Training, Competitions, and Medical.
USATKD Partners with the National Center for Safety Initiatives
New members and renewing members must undergo and successfully compete a background screening via the National Center for Safety Initiatives, NCSI. USATKD members include athletes, coaches, referees, instructors, and club owners. All people in supervisory positions must undergo and successfully complete a background screening with NCSI. NCSI background screenings are required every 2 years for those 18 years and older.
YOU ARE EMPOWERED
The Center for SafeSport and USATKD provides education, training and resources for athletes, coaches and parents. With this knowledge, you are empowered to prevent, recognize, and respond to an abusive situation. You can expect response and resolution from all reporting. Reporting is annonymous and there is no cost associated with reporting a concern.
New members and renewing members must successfully complete the Center for SafeSport Training Course. USATKD Members include athletes, coaches, referees, instructors, and club owners. All people in supervisory positions must also successfully complete the Center for SafeSport Training course. The Center for SafeSport Training Course is required every year for those 18 years and older.
