SAFETY IS PRIORITY
The safety and well-being of every amateur athlete is a top priority for USA Taekwondo. In collaboration with the U.S. Center for SafeSport, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), and the National Governing Body, USA Taekwondo is committed to ending emotional, physical, and sexual abuse in sport. Together, we are leading the charge to create a safe, respectful, and empowering environment for ALL athletes—on and off the mat.
USA TAEKWONDO'S CORE SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishing and enforcing policies and procedures that promote safety and well-being at all USA Taekwondo events and within the organization.
- Providing comprehensive education and training for all members—including athletes, coaches, parents, and staff—on recognizing, preventing, and responding to abuse and misconduct.
- Access to a confidential, cost-free reporting system that allows individuals to report concerns anonymously and without fear of retaliation.
- Sanctioning individuals who violate the SafeSport Code, ensuring accountability and upholding the integrity of our sport.
- Implementing rigorous oversight and compliance mechanisms to guarantee 100% adherence to SafeSport standards, policies, and procedures.
Together, we are building a safer, stronger future for every athlete in the USA Taekwondo family.
REPORTING MISCONDUCT
The U.S. Center for SafeSport handles all reports involving USA Taekwondo participants, with exclusive authority over cases related to: Sexual misconduct, including child abuse, Criminal charges involving abuse or misconduct, Interference with reporting or SafeSport processes, and other inappropriate conduct as defined by SafeSport.
Reports of emotional or physical misconduct—such as bullying, hazing, stalking, or harassment—can be submitted to either the U.S. Center for SafeSport or directly to USA Taekwondo. MAAPP violations should be reported to USA Taekwondo.
