USA TAEKWONDO LAUNCHES GLOBAL SEARCH FOR WORLD-CLASS HIGH-PERFORMANCE COACH

Charlotte, NC – USA Taekwondo is launching a worldwide search for an exceptional high-performance sparring coach to join its rapidly rising national program. This is a full-time position based in Charlotte, North Carolina, working inside one of the most forward-thinking and ambitious Olympic programs in the world.

We are looking aggressively both domestically and internationally. This search is truly global and reflects the standard the organization has set as World Taekwondo's #1-ranked Member National Association in both 2024 and 2025.

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience, international pedigree, and performance history.

USA Taekwondo is seeking a coach with:

  • A proven track record of success at the highest level of World Taekwondo competition

  • An understanding of integrated sport science and the ability to work with expert providers in strength & conditioning, nutrition, and sport psychology among others, to build and execute individualized athlete development plans
  • A hunger to build on the momentum of one of the sport's fastest-advancing nations

If applying from outside the United States and/or without an existing U.S. work permit, candidates must have no impediments to obtaining lawful authorization to work in the United States. USA Taekwondo will support the visa process for exceptional applicants.

The Role

This position will work as part of an elite coaching team under the leadership of Paul Green, USA Taekwondo Coaching Director, alongside:

  • Gareth Brown, U.S. Olympic Team Coach
  • Stephen Lambdin, U.S. Olympic Team Coach
  • Cadet, Junior, and Paralympic National Team Coaches
  • Future coaching staff additions as the program continues to expand

The new hire will be a key part of this coaching group, strengthening the bench and elevating athlete performance.

Selection Process

The hiring decision will be made by USA Taekwondo CEO Steve McNally, with advisory input from:

  • Paul Green, Coaching Director
  • Gareth Brown, Olympic Coach
  • Stephen Lambdin, Olympic Coach
  • Carol Lewis, Olympian and Chair of the USA Taekwondo Board of Directors

This group will help ensure the selected coach not only meets the technical and competitive demands of elite coaching, but also aligns with the cultural, ethical, athlete safety and professional standards that define USA Taekwondo's high-performance environment.
