USA Taekwondo CEO Steve McNally Elected Vice President of Pan American Taekwondo Union
CHARLOTTE, NC – USA Taekwondo is proud to announce that its CEO, Steve McNally, has been elected as Vice President of the Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU), the continental governing body recognized by World Taekwondo.
McNally’s election to the PATU Executive Council as Vice President marks a significant milestone for the United States, and he brings more than a decade of experience in national governance, international relations, and athlete development to the Pan American leadership team. His appointment reflects a growing recognition of the United States’ role in shaping the future of the sport in the Americas and worldwide.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be elected Vice President of PATU, and I’d like to thank President Juan Manuel Lopez Delgado for his trust and friendship and congratulate him on his re-election for four more years – he has completely transformed PATU in his first term, and I’m excited to see what he does in his second,” said McNally.
“Equally, as PATU has been reformed over the past years, we’ve also worked hard to rehabilitate the reputation of the United States in the global Taekwondo community and to restore our important voice in the international arena — a voice that had been muted for far too long. I look forward to continuing that work within the PATU senior leadership team, advancing our region through unity, ethical leadership, and meaningful support for athletes and federations. Together we can build a more connected, transparent, ethical and empowered Pan American Taekwondo family.”
In his new role, McNally will work closely with PATU President Juan Manuel López Delgado and fellow council members to develop and implement strategies that promote fairness, transparency, and sustainable growth throughout the Americas. His priorities will include enhancing collaboration among member nations, expanding development opportunities, and fostering a culture of mutual respect and integrity.
McNally will continue to serve as CEO of USA Taekwondo, a position he has held since 2018, where he has overseen significant advancements in athlete performance, development, and organizational innovation, ultimately leading to USA Taekwondo being named the #1 organization globally by World Taekwondo last year.
